After finding some more accurate maps showing detailed track layout, I've recently been taking a break from working on the Shildon area to revise the track layout and signalling in the Auckland Park/Eldon Lane area.
Auckland Park Colliery (which in reality closed in 1946, remaining open as a pumping station until 1961) is a central feature of this part of the route, which lies between Tunnel Branch Junction and South Church on the Bishop Auckland-Shildon line.

hi when will this be ready
ReplyDeleteThat's impossible to say. It's a large route, and only a fraction is anywhere near finished. West Auckland, the whole of the Weardale line, and Shildon Yards are still bare trackwork at present.
ReplyDeleteI've also not yet got a source for accurate buildings for Bishop Auckland etc. which will prevent it being "ready" until I've learnt how to do it myself - something I won't take on until the rest is done.
